Ok, the site is all new. 2 of the 4 reviews posted here about transgenderdate.com were from trolls with fake profiles who were banned from the site. Apparently because of sour grapes they posted bad reviews here.
TGD now operates on a freemium model, accounts are free, but donations bring account upgrades. Servers have been updated, chat is back, video upload works.
Thousands of new members have signed up since any of the reviews here were posted - over 200 new members/day for several months.
The site is now moderated, trolls and fakes are mostly gone, those who resurface are banned pretty quickly. There are employees providing customer service and moderation, a full time programmer continues to add new features pretty much weekly. 95% of the BS on the blogs is gone, since now blog authors can select the option to only permit verified profiles to comment on their blogs, and mods delete the trolls pretty quickly.
The site has been around nearly 11 years, trans people currently receive VIP access for free when they verify their profiles. As such, there are literally 10s of 1000s of Verified profiles of trans people, no sex workers, and it’s easy to spot the fakes, you just avoid the non-verified or non-vip profiles.
TGD has more verified profiles of trans people than any other dating site in existence. AND most of the users are in North America not Asia.
Since the site upgrade I’ve received 2 sexually explicit messages and 2 spam (in months) it used to be 30 of those a day before the site upgrade so the dating experience has really improved for trans people.
There’s far more trans men than were ever active on the site before.
New email controls allow verified members to filter messages and avoid 95% of the crap we used to receive every day before.
New search options, new site layout and display indicates verified and VIP members from the thumbnail view, so there is no reason to click on or respond to any fake profiles.
The site has had its problems in the past, but it’s a new era for TGD, it’s the best dating site for trans people
 In summary, I would recommend Transgender Date to a friend.
